WINGS OF GLORY

He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Genesis 28:12

We find Jacob is on a journey to Haren and as night falls, he stops at a certain place to rest. Exhausted from his travels, Jacob uses a stone as a pillow and falls asleep. In this vulnerable moment, he has a dream that will change the course of his life. Jacob sees a ladder stretching from earth to heaven in this dream, with angels moving up and down on it. This image is often interpreted as a connection between the earthly and heavenly realms, symbolizing communication between mankind and God. But it also serves as a reflection on Jacob’s own journey and relationship with the divine.

I attribute Jacob’s ladder to ascending to heaven. It’s an important spiritual engagement and it’s not just about making ourselves feel good. It is about engaging with The Kingdom realm.

We have been taught to sit here passively waiting, but if you have been following my blog for long, waiting upon the Lord means an interactive, passionate pursuit of Him.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Psalms 40:31

Each of us has a role to play in Creation and to understand our purpose, we need an encounter with the presence of God in our worship. If you do not spend time worshipping then part of your spirit will be deeply inhibited because nurture and love is found in the presence of YAH. 

There is a difference between going up the mountain to hear the "still, small voice" and waiting at the bottom of the mountain. If we are  trying to engage with the voice at the top, it’s very hard to hear. The key is to interact with The Father on a personal level and this means you must position yourself where He is and ascend to where YAH is sitting.

In fact, we are told those who WAIT [worship] on The Lord will renew their strength and soar like eagles. Yashua said He does only "what He sees the Father do..." (John 5:19 NKJV). The reason He could see what the Father was doing was because He was up there on the mountain. 

When you and I do this, we are making an interactive, conscious decision that opens the way to ascend above our environment on the wings of our eagle.

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV). 

This is a place where you will not grow weary. It’s not about our efforts, but about what He has done to accomplish on the earth what is needful, to position us in that place where we are able to engage with His fire and His glory- [more on the fire topic soon] 

I am trying to unlock your thinking, how am I doing? 

We need to move out and away from the normal religious understanding about waiting upon the Lord. The Word is very clear  "...Sit together in the heavenly places in Christ... far above all principality and power" (Ephesians 2:6, Ephesians 1:21 NKJV). 

A heavenly place is a realm of rulership from where Kingdom Government is exercised. It is a realm where you and I have a position in Christ, because we are in Christ in heavenly places. 

Our big problem is that we have never been told we can go there. Nor have we been shown how to get there. So we stay here, earthbound, while trying to bring resolution to the chaos that is here. Yikes!

When we do this from our earthly position, we end up only supplying what is needed to maintain the chaos and become worn-out. The best way to deal with this kind of circumstance is to get-up-higher and go above it! 

I learned how to “go higher” than the things that were keeping me earth bound. When those things sit in front of us and engage us, making us weary and worn, we gotta learn to go-higher. It is very important in your personal life to rule over these things. 

Take Jacob who was alone on his journey. Perhaps he realized the sinfulness of his deception or was grieved over leaving his mother behind. Whatever his feelings, Jacob was at the end of himself. This was when he encountered a “certain place”. A location that God had designed to get his attention. This ordinary place was Haran, which means “a dry or parched place.” Jacob laid his head on a stone pillow and had a dream. YAH, in his wisdom and mercy, knew exactly how to bypass the questions, fears, and sadness. He waited until Jacob was asleep and spoke to him in a way that captured his full attention.  It’s amazing how smack-dab in the middle of our dry and life-draining deserts we might be on our way to our greatest awakening. 

So get ready…. make it your full intention to position yourself for a life altering encounter to interface with YAH. This is not a passive thing. 

We are to ride our eagle’s wings and let him take us from the bottom of the mountain in Christ Jesus to the Mountain top where YAH sits. It is only when we are in the place of encounter that YAH can come along beside us and speak to us.

Tonight, before you fall asleep, ask the Lord for dreams that reveal his heart. When you lay your head down, expect the Lord to bless you with divine encounters. Fill your mind with thoughts of him. Focus on his love for you. Let your heart move closer. Your beloved longs to share his wisdom and unveil his mysteries while you sleep. Your pillow will become a pillar of glory and your bedroom a chamber of angelic activity. Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Father, you know my needs, wants, and dreams. As I stand here on earth, give me wings of faith to fly above every perspective that has me chained to earth. I want to see things that are too magnificent for words and be closer to you than ever before.

 

Father, as I release my cares to you, please unveil your secrets; impart wisdom and understanding to experience holy encounters that change my life..

I want to soar with my heavenly eagle to ascend high above every stronghold and awaken all my senses to experience your presence. Bless me Father with heavenly dreams. Speak to me Father, come and refresh me with your strong love to carry me straight into my greatest awakening.I thank you and adore you Father YAH in the Holy Name of Yashua. Amen.
