THE CRUSHING IS THE WAY

“To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” — 1 Samuel 15:22 

In the fields of everyday life, there lies an invisible altar—and on it, surrender & obedience becomes the offering that pleases God most and there are no shortcuts through Gethsemane. 

“Teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you.” Matt 28:18-20 (TPT)

The crushing cannot be bypassed. 

The pressing cannot be avoided.

Just as olives must be crushed to release their precious oil, we too often experience emotional, spiritual, or personal crushing before God’s oil can flow. 

While the crushing is painful, it is not meant to destroy us; instead, it is a refining process to shape us, to purge our impurities, and prepares us for our purpose. 

When Samuel anointed David, the oil flowed — but the crown didn’t come for years. 

In fact before the throne came….. Isolation, Running, Betrayal, Rejection, and Crushing. 

Yet David never stopped worshipping. Because he wasn’t after a title — he was after God. 

You, too, are being prepared.  

That pressure you feel? That heaviness?

It’s not punishment — it’s the pressing before YAH’s pouring.

Think of the love of God expressed in the crushing of the Son so that the Spirit might be given freely to you.

And remember, the oil WILL cost everything.
He brings forth the oil to anoint us in order to fulfill His Calling. 
You carry a fragrance that can never be faked, copied, or stolen but it  requires intentional tending, costly surrender and daily decisions that no one but Heaven sees. 
I'm going to share with you a dream that I had, which I feel is both a warning from the Lord but also to release understanding of how important “the crushing” is to YAH. 

So, in my dream, I am busy making bread and suddenly I feel heavy oil being poured over my head and all into my hair! In that instant, I’m given a vision of a dam that was made with fear & bitterness.  

 

Just as I recognized my bitterness I was carrying, the oil breaks the dam to rain over me. As the oil flows, I am given insight as to my Call. I woke up with an understanding that the darkness on the earth is growing darker but those working to surrender were given oil to sustain & overcome the coming days.

To gather His Oil:

Will require guarding our heart when bitterness tries to creep in. 

Will require guarding our purity when compromise seems easier.  

Will require saying no to what could quench the Spirit inside of you. 

Be faithful to endure, keep worshipping - do not fall asleep or grow complacent but understand the wait for your oil may be longer than expected, the night may stretch into silence, but the delay may expose what you were really carrying.

“Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority! Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.” Colossians 3:1-2 (TPT)

What areas of your life feel like crushing right now?

Could it be the very place God is producing fresh oil? 

In God’s presence we partake of His divine nature as He lives in us.

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)
