PILLER IN THE TEMPLE
The Bible talks about how we have been fashioned to be vessels of honour, and vessels of dishonour:a pillar in the temple.
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and fit for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work” (2 Timothy 2:20-21).
The vessel of your character is where your spirit man sits. What goes on inside that vessel can then be a blessing to multitudes of people around you.
We need to realize that YAH is looking to mature us and our character must be developed in order to join His Priesthood.
We are God’s house and the Book of Hebrews says,
“Every house is built by someone, but God is the Designer and Builder of all things. and within each of us Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” Hebrews 3:4 TPT
The supply of what you need is only found on the other side of the veil. You cannot walk out your life with YAH this side of the veil no matter how hard you try. You will not mature - you remain stuck!
Your maturity means to become a priest, and go through the veil. We need to understand that process. We try to pull heaven’s supply down here with “Father, you are welcome here and Lord, fill the atmosphere with Your presence.” But honestly we are the ones who need to move.
The Bible says He is omnipresent which means He is already here, so the issue is we need to get into His Presence, soak in Him! (Jeremiah 23:23-24, Psalm 139:7-10)
This is a major misunderstanding in the body of Christ. We try to pull heaven down towards us, but we are meant to go in —towards Him, into the middle of that supply, to engage all of that, and then bring it to this side, because holiness is a choice. Holiness is another part of character. But you cannot become holy without righteousness, and righteousness is a gift we receive on the other side of the veil.
We often try to become holy by making right choices outside of the gift of righteousness. We often try to discipline our life so we are right all the time. But YAH is not interested in a disciplined life. He is interested in a dead life.
Then you are ready to put on your new self, modeled after the very likeness of God: truthful, righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:24
A dead life is only found —the other side of the veil, where you are given righteousness. So, we need to go in and engage righteousness. Then, out of the supply of righteousness, we can bring righteousness back here, which will empower our holiness.
Instead, credit God with your new situation: you are united with Jesus the Anointed. He is God’s wisdom for us and more. He is our righteousness and holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30
This week, I kept noticing the Ironwood blooming across my property. And it’s been unusually BOLD and spectacular this year!
Are you familiar with the Ironwood plant? Here is a picture of a North Idaho variety called “Oceanspray”. I know the Lord was pointing it out as a metaphor for developing our character.
Ironwood is a picture of stability and resilience. It thrives no matter where it’s planted, but when in bloom it’s beautiful. I do love the symbolism of “Bloom where you are planted" - a phrase we often hear, suggesting that we should thrive no matter our circumstances. At face value, it's a call to resilience, to find strength and purpose wherever we find ourselves. Yet, the simplicity of the phrase is truly a demand of our character.
Let’s see, the Ironwood is drought-tolerant due to its deep roots; deer resistant; pollinator, insect and wildlife favorite as its flowers attract and provide nectar for hummingbirds, butterflies and bees and other insect pollinators. Its seeds are consumed by birds and provides good cover for birds and small mammals and amphibians like the tree frog.
It’s also known for it’s medicinal benefits by indigenous people who have referred to this shrub as “iron wood” due to the strength of its branch, which becomes stronger when put through fire and polished with horsetail. I think we can relate to this can’t we?
Traditionally it’s branches of strength has been used as bows, arrows, spears, digging implements, fire tongs, fishing hooks, harpoons, nails, knitting needles, furniture and small utensils and hand tools; landscape uses include pollinator gardens, rock gardens, woodland gardens, habitat hedgerows and/or erosion control and bank stabilization.
So, do we even dare to compare our character as a Overcomer with the remarkable Ironwood?
It’s durability, deep roots, drought resistant and unwavering strength as well as longevity means we have much work to do! I forgot to mention it can live up to 300 years! WOW And it’s through Yashua that we reach an understanding of the depth of our meagerness and the only place we can be right with YAH!
I love how God uses His Creation to teach us about our character. It is important to our maturity in Christ to see that Ironwood stands as a testament to our required virtues for YAH’s Preisthood. Just like the Ironwood we are to live our life in harmony with Our Creator.
But first we must recognize, we have major flaws showing and these are serious issues in our character. These flaws have empowered an entire framework in peoples’ lives to allow deceptive belief systems to grow. The sin nature has been cultured, so there has then been a falling away from the Kingdom world.
Part of our growing character is to learn about these flaws by going to the cross. When life gets tough, who you are comes out.
To understand the development of character starts with recognizing where we are at by asking ourselves whether we are at peace or in complete chaos when things get tough in our life.
The Word says, “Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). We think hardness means bearing our cross to our loved ones, but your cross is you working out your character flaws in the secret place. It’s here in the Holy of Holies where issues that were previously hidden are uncovered by the anointing within you. When your thoughts are out of alignment, that anointing is blocked. Remember that when your thoughts, feelings and words are in alignment with God and with yourself, you become an unobstructed natural flow of His Spirit through your spirit.
So don’t ever be afraid, dearest friends! Your loving Father joyously gives you his kingdom realm with all its promises! --Luke 12:32, TPT
There are things where you have had to destroy the false yoke on your life and walk your way through them. You identified the things that blocked your flow. “My yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30).
YAH will always go to the deepest points in your life with character because He wants a vessel honned for Himself.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You remove fine layers of film and dust from the outside of a cup or bowl, but you leave the inside full of greed and covetousness and self-indulgence” (Matthew 23:25 VOICE).
And just so you know… Our Character development never stops and there is always more. I often hear the Lord say to me, “There is more, much more, keep going”.
So, if anything in your soul is contrary to this fruit of Holy Spirit living through you, there is a root -- something that simply needs to be identified and eradicated. Where there is fruit, there is a root!
Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. --Psalm 51:6-7, NKJV
The moment you think you have got it all together, YAH will come and dunk us in His Water (as a clay) so it all falls to pieces. He wants to remake you into a different thing than you thought you were. So, when you think you have it all together, you really need to know —you do not! We never truly arrive!
As you learn to pay attention to present issues, identifying them and releasing God’s truth and presence into them, He builds a Divine bridge, which brings buried things to light, opening the door for cleansing, healing, restoration and victory.
Character is vital for the ingredient of your spirit man to have a resting place. This bowl that your character develops is important for your spirit to flow in the right way and important to YAH, because of integrity. You will find that YAH will put pressure on you in every single area to see if you will hold to the truth or whether you will bend.
If you start to bend, you need to go down a pay grade and start dealing with your junk stored there until you can stand the weight of responsibility. This is one of the many things being released today in the Kingdom world by YAH. He is looking for a deliberate responsibility of sonship.
You can recognize when your character is not developed by how much you try and control everything that is around you. You should be able to just let go, and allow it to be displayed, instead of trying to control and have your dominion over it.
I began to understand this when I was given a rod in the spirit realm. I would be in The Garden with Jesus and I would be holding this long rod. This occurred numerous times, until finally I asked about the purpose of the rod and the staff. Why didn’t I ask sooner still puzzles me but that is for another post!
The rod is about the relationship of YAH opening and displaying truth. I had made myself available to truth. The staff represents the shepherd’s crook that rescues you when you mess up. It has power to part the sea within our soul so that your spirit can arise! Without the rod, we do not have the power, and we are living a soulful life.
Ask Yashua about your rod. Pray for His Word to open to you. The Holy Scriptures move us, direct us, guide us, and even correct us.
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
As YAH develops your character you will make mistakes, but you are supposed to learn from them. If you do not learn, YAH will take you back around again and again until you get it. Eventually, you will learn that YAH wants you to die to yourself, come out of that and begin to walk. Dying to yourself develops your character because it means loving other people beyond your capacity in human form.
As part of that development, you will find that the worst darts come from the people in your life. That is where you must learn to endure hardness as a good soldier of the Lord. You need to understand that because of the identity that YAH wants to bring us into, our identity must be in HIM, everything else will be torn down. YAH will take you out of that particular situation and allow you to feel hurt. This is the process that we must go through to rid ourselves of self reliance and the affirmation of people until we find it in our Father. Once we find it in our Father, then everything else will change around us. That is how YAH develops us and when He does, He also allows for our vindication.
Part of your character development is to understand you must lead the way in dying to yourself. Dying to self and building your character is acknowledging truth (Luke 9:23-24, Galatians 5:24, Romans 8:12-13).
When you walk in the truth, you will see the truth and know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32). Hallelujah!
We restrict ourselves, so often, by not engaging and acknowledging truth. It’s about coming back to the cross. He wants us to stand in the storm. We have addressed this as “the whirlwind” here on the blog, but the full understanding is when you come into the eye of the storm, stand, and find peace as the chaos swirls all around you.
There is a major difference between your reaction to the storms when your character is developed and your reaction to the storms when your character is undeveloped.
For example, when your character is undeveloped, you will get angry, bitter, resentful, and frustrated: “Aahhh! Why is this happening to me, this is so unfair …!” You know how it goes. Part of the process of life is YAH bringing us to a point where we can begin to glorify Him in the midst of every sorrow and every triumph.
The Word says, “He that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name” (Revelation 3:12).
If your character is not developed, this will create chaos around you, because you try and respond out of the wrong way to protect yourself. Self-protection is another way to recognise undeveloped character. Character is displayed in our ability to refrain our hand when we think we have a right to act, to hold our hand away. Even though difficulties exist around us, we can put a framework around them without having to kick them about.
When you start to deal with things in the spirit and your character is a mess, the first thing that will be displayed in your life is your brokenness. The enemy will come after that because he knows the your character has not been developed well enough yet. He always comes when there is Pride and it’s usually connected with spirituality. Where we have pride, our character lacks the foundation of having walked through our issues in Christ. Somewhere along the line, we got stuck. It is essential to engage with YAH to allow Him access in a personal way to become unstuck.
It will not be necessary for you to fight in this conflict. Take your positions, stand, and observe the deliverance of the Lord for you. . . 2 Chronicles 20:17
By the way, to become unstuck, takes work! It cannot be given to us or loaned! It comes with time —sitting with your bible open, reading and mediating on the scriptures until they open for you. You will find yourself so close to The Lord His presence will surround you like a glory cloud.
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lordfilled the tabernacle. Exodus 40:34-35
You, as a being is the most important thing that YAH will look at inside your life.
He will engage you to develop His clay vessel to become a strong pillar and what you are connected with will not fall when pressure comes. Guess what as you become a pillar, the next time the storm comes along you will walk right through it, it does not walk right through you.
When we understand the realm of heaven, this world has no effect on us. You live in it, but you are not of it. You do not engage things in it, you engage in what the Father is doing! And YAH will develop you to a point where you can walk through the storms of life, and you will not be shaken. You become like a pillar standing strong through life. Then your job is to train others in how to become a pillar in the same way
Looking back, everything with YAH is about character. He wants you to see your trials were about learning how to overcome. It is only overcoming in this life that warrants our position in that life (1 John 5:4-5). There is no other way to do it, and YAH will partner with us and take us through it. Thank you Yashua.
I pray this message is encouraging! I also want to thank you for the comments on my posts. They truly bless me!

My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me -- we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine! (TPT)
