Everything I Need - O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness. I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more with cravings in my heart that can’t be described. Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God! Psalm 63:1

As we continue forth through this journey, we have come to understand God has a wilderness for each of us. And not every wilderness trek is because of rebellion or sin. Jesus had no sin, yet He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days (Luke 4:1).

Now Jesus, full of [and in perfect communication with] the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness. (Luke 4:1).

May I speak to your sojourner heart 💜?

Now that we have the revelation that our life is a beautiful tapestry to God and every “thread” slides through the eye of His needle with all sorts of different colored threads to impact our refinement - - We can breathe easier, right?

Pause a moment, open your heart to this truth as you wait….let it come and settle into your spirit.

We know every thread is taking its place to reveal the pure picture of God’s love.

Let the love of Jesus wash over you at this moment. Thinking about His beauty….his eyes, his white robe etc. while making a decision to open your heart - - is to relinquishing our will, our way and carnal mind to restore our broken soul by the Fire of God.

This is the life of God being imparted into our spirit. This is allowing  the Holy Spirit to live and abide in our spirit.

We are about to go low, lower than ever before… we are going into the deep waters where God calls each one to restore their soul. This is humility”. This is willingness to answer the call by submitting to God’s Fire - which comes by humbling our inner soul-ish man.

We are coming before God to deal with our inner-man rebellion - that is of our will. This action brings unity over our soul and spirit!

In the beginning of our wilderness we tend to be so self-focused and consumed with our needs. But we discover true worship is the worship of God, not just singing about our needs or our blessings, but Worship is God focused, taking us out of our need into the Glory Fire of who God is and what Jesus has done for all of us.

Let me share my dream that occurred very early in my wilderness trek.

My Dream

I was in a room standing next to Jesus and it was a room not like any other room I had visited in my wilderness. There was fire all along the walls and ceiling. I wasn’t alone as there were many Saints in this room with me. Yahweh enters but I could only see his form and he was huge like a sky scraper.  Just as Yah begins to speak to the room,  a feathered wing brushes against my back and it’s a new sensation to me but immediately I know this was my guardian angel. We begin to form a line as we are being ushered along this enormous wall of fire. When I look ahead, we are approaching a large circular Ring of Fire in the center of this room. We gather around it.  As I approach the Fire Ring,  my lips and hands begin to quiver and I can feel them heating up. I am given a knowing that they are being transformed. I felt complete peace and safety in this place, even though over to my left, I knew satan was in the room watching, but I could not see him.

I didn’t know at the time but I soon discovered what it meant to have lips and hands transformed by God’s fire!

His Fire transforms our words and actions to praise and worship Him. This is referred to as having the mind of Christ.

Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind serve the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness, my sinful capacity—I serve] the law of sin. Romans 7:25

This amazing transformation of worship would soon release miracles in my life!

But let’s back track a bit….

Before we can understand why Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit, it is necessary to understand the significance of the event that immediately preceded it.

The event which immediately preceded Jesus’ journey in the wilderness was His baptism by John the Baptist, at which time heaven opened unto him. (His ministry also began after this too!)

This is a significant revelation for us here too!

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.  And immediately coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.  And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.   (Mark 1:9-11)

The heavens being opened unto Jesus means that he saw spiritually for the first time. Until that time, though he was born of the spirit of God, his only approach to his Father was via the (Old Testament) Scriptures.  Prior to this he was just like you & me or any other man who lived at that time.

So you see, His baptism by John fully represented what happens to us when we are baptized by the Holy Spirit. This is the Ring of Fire in my dream. I was being baptized by God even though I did not have a complete understanding, God knew what he was weaving into my spirit! Sometimes, we have to wait for the full revelation of things because the full understanding has not been imparted to our mind by God.

Under the New Covenant every child of God has the Spirit of God. If you are born again, the Spirit of God is in your spirit. We do need to differentiate between being born of the Spirit and being filled with the Spirit. The born-again Christian can be filled with the same Spirit that he already has in him. And when he is filled with that Spirit, there will be an overflowing. He will speak with other tongues as the Spirit gives him utterance (Acts 2:4).

Jesus went from a physical human being, limited by his mind and understanding, to a spiritual human being. Everything Jesus does we are to do, right? He was reborn and the heavens (the spiritual realm) opened to him, with direct access to His Father, God.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up immediately out of the water; and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him;  and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 3:16,17)

Although, we have been taught the Bible and believe it, heaven opens when we find ourselves in our wilderness. This is a place of sweet surrender giving Jesus preeminence in all things in our life! Hallelujah!

Jesus becomes our beloved first and foremost and we live the verse in the book of John 15:4-6 that Jesus is the “vine” and we are the “branches”. We come to understand what it means to maintain a constant connection to the vine through the indwelling of His Spirit. His Spirit teaches the means to be healthy and bear fruit in our wilderness!

The enemy wants us to be afraid of our wilderness, just like in my dream he was observing, looking for an open gate, but if we step over the threshold and embrace this journey, we are partnering with Jesus and we are protected by Him. I was given a knowing that my guardian angel was there with me!  How gracious is our God?

Be encouraged as you open your heart, the pages of God’s Word opens to lead you into the shelter of strength found in Jesus.

Everything about you was made for God. You were created to need His presence. The true longing of your heart is to know Him, for you were formed in his image (Genesis 1:26– 27). When we embrace this truth, we become thirsty for Him and He alone quenches us!

I entered the wilderness unable to recognize the voice of the enemy and did not know how to stand against him. And so the devil’s ways were mixed with God’s ways.

Now, I realize the wilderness is necessary and rewarding because like Jesus in the wilderness where he was tempted by the devil, he also learned to hear His Father’s Voice.

Each one who desires to serve God by the spirit will go through a period of testing according to God’s timetable, and come away with a cleansed soul that is strengthened by God to hear His Voice on the other side.

We suffer for the gospel just as Jesus suffered for it (Philippians 1:29; 3:10).

Paul had a view of suffering that was radically different from what we are being taught today. He recognized that God used suffering, especially the trials and discomfort to advance Christ’s Kingdom and to make each one more like Jesus.

Peter agreed with Paul: Christians should rejoice when they suffer, for in their own suffering they too will in a small way experience what it meant for Jesus to suffer for our sins (1 Peter 4:12-13).

All praises belong to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort. He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us. And just as we experience the abundance of Christ’s own sufferings, even more of God’s comfort will cascade upon us through our union with Christ.

If troubles weigh us down, that just means that we will receive even more comfort to pass on to you for your deliverance! For the comfort pouring into us empowers us to bring comfort to you. And with this comfort uphold- ing you, you can endure victoriously the same suffering that we experience. Now our hope for you is unshakable, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings you will also share in God’s comforting strength.

—2 Corinthians 1:3–7

Our suffering draws us closer to Christ and Paul notes that suffering produces perseverance, which in turn develops our character in Christ.

Another benefit and I use the word benefit loosely because many are truly suffering! But our suffering: it teaches the sufferer how to encourage others who are also suffering. (Romans 5:3-4; also see James 1:3-4; 2 Peter 1:6; Revelation 2:2, 19).

I hear The Lord leading in a Whisper. This Whisper is for you as I sit listening to The Voice of God, Let the following speak to you personally in a deep way.

It takes practice to listen with your heart. The more you practice, the better you will be able to discern quickly what He is saying at any given moment or situation, He is with you. This type of listening will take us beyond the natural realm to pierce the second veil causing an understanding of things that we would not ordinarily be able to know.

Listen with your heart for the voice of the Lord speaking directly to you, not just with your ears, but wait to listen with your heart.

Pause yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to Come as you begin to read each word.

Then, out of that understanding, you will be able to respond in a way that will cause love to escalate within our souls. The love that only Jesus provides. Praise the Lord!

The Lord wants us to listen with our heart because this is how He listens.
