PILLAR OF FIRE
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. (Ephesians 2:1–2)
If we are spiritually dead then we cannot respond to spiritual things, much less live a spiritual life.
No amount of love, care, and words of affection from God can draw a response from us because a spiritually dead person is alienated from God and has no capacity to respond.
In the state of spiritual death, the only walking, or living, a person can do is according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. We know this as our society!
When we walk with the Spirit, we can be going along and then suddenly, make a turn because The Spirit is showing something totally new. I am always in awe of His unveiling mysteries. I admit, I never see the new revelation coming! This is how it is when we study the Bible. Holy Spirit reveals new truth all the time and you must permit the Holy Spirit to lead you. You must know that He wants to share all these intimate insights with each of us.
Our spirit does not know any defeat and doesn’t doubt or fear. It’s the only part of you that knows everything will be just fine. When everything around us begins to erupt and/or fall apart, we can begin to laugh because our Spirit has insider-information that comes from the Spirit of God. This is called a witness of the Spirit. I talk about feeling a witness over my podcast because the Word of God dwells richly in us, and it’s a person and His name is Jesus.
So if we look at the the issues in the wilderness of sin the whole congregation of the Israelites journeyed by stages, as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim [means a place in the desert] but there was no water for the people to drink.
The people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?” But the people thirsted there for water; and the people complained against Moses and said, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and livestock with thirst?”
So Moses cried out to the Lord, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
The Lord said to Moses, “Go on ahead of the people, and take some of the elders of Israel with you; take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will be standing there in front of you on the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it, so that the people may drink.”
Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel because the Israelites quarreled and tested the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
Symbolically, we too strike the rock to drink of the Holy Spirit in our journey. We can’t get lazy, depending on others to do the work. The Israel’s plight comes at the beginning of their sojourn in the desert of Rephidim. (Exodus 17:1–7) They were desperate for water and as you will see from verses 4 to 6, God told Moses to strike the rock. The inference is that he should strike the rock once only.
The second instance happened at the end of Israel’s wandering in the desert, at a place called Kadesh, the wilderness of Zin (Numbers 20:7–13) Once again they were desperate for water and again were complaining about Moses. Here, God told Moses to speak to the rock but in his frustration, Moses struck the rock, overriding God’s instructions to simply speak to it.
Now, the illustration: The “Rock” was a type of Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son (1 Corinthians 10:4). When God told Moses to strike the rock, this was to typify Christ on the Cross (Isaiah 53:4). The water gushing out of the rock was a type of the Holy Spirit (John 7:37–39), which would be poured out following the smiting of the rock (John 14:16–20). Without the spirit or watering of the Rock…we are dead man walking!
As the great Scottish commentator John Eadie said, “It is a case of death walking.” Men apart from God are spiritual zombies, the walking dead who do not know they are dead. They go through the motions of life, but they do not possess it.
You must be aware that if you’re not careful, religion (and the government) will strip you of the goodness of God and of His plans for your life.
Like the Israelite’s we must submit to the pillar of fire to burn away the Kosmos (world) which does not represent the physical creation but the world order or world’s system of values and it’s way of doing things. And as Paul makes clear, the course of this world follows the leadership and design of Satan, the prince of the power of the air.
In our daily life we come up against situations that we cannot overcome in our own strength, or with our own wisdom. We need a strength and a wisdom that comes from Above, that comes from Beyond, that comes from Another outside of us and yet rises up from within us.
When we look to Jesus, Our Savior, and Rock, we are truly born-again. We come to recognize our inability to save ourselves, and our faith and trust in Jesus builds in you and through you what you could not do on your own.
However, there is cleanup work that takes cooperation with the Spirit of God. We have to experience the processes that our desert provides. If we look to the prophet Isaiah, he says: “Let every valley be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; and let the rough ground become a plain, and the rugged terrain a broad valley” (Isaiah 40:4, NASB).
We will experience low places in our internal soul that need to be exalted, high places that need to be brought down and rough places that need to be made smooth, so that the glory of God’s image can be seen in us, by us and though us!
Can you see now, how we are spiritually raised from the dead?
We access the Father just like Jesus did and enter His Spiritual Mountain within our mind, body and spirit. We are allowing Him to build new lands [places within your heart] with new springs [revelation] that flow right from His Mountain [His Presence] into us. We enter Mount Sinai just like Moses and learn the commandments of God to set us free from our bondage!
Just as you once relied upon Christ to save you, now you must rely upon Him to live through you every day and in everything!
It’s not enough to worship the Lord we must seek him in the depths of our weakness deep within our soul!
“As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord…That is the Gate now walk through it! So visualize walking with Him. Realization of this truth of who you are in Christ is true deliverance!
In this place, we have exalted The Lord and Behold we are not exhausted! It’s a sweet voice of authority that speaks from behind the veil warning us that the enemy has come into the room and to resist him with divine discernment.
The first time this happened, I danced with delight because I was given a warning to “not react”. This is an example of being used by God to penetrate the darkness!
A demon doesn’t always have access to people, but when they find those people they can access, they pursue them hard in order for a manifestation to occur. Prior to the manifestation, persecution is the invisible war all around this person. If you get close to someone who is truly deceived, you will watch them start to fold before your eyes and become like Peter popping off with their words.
Peter told Jesus that He wouldn’t go to Jerusalem to die. Jesus had to explain that He knew where He was going and that Peter was not speaking from the right spirit.
Look Jesus was doing spiritual warfare, right? Just like Jesus, pull down any stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:4–5). Do it quickly! But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on things of God, but on things of man.” Matthew 16:23
This is what you do when a “Peter type” enters the room ….this is a spirit allowed to exalting itself above what was already known to us by the will of God. This spirit spoke through Peter and Jesus had to pull it down. It didn’t matter where the words were coming from; they had to be pulled down.
This is the sweet Path of surrender.
It takes you to the gate of “letting Go” to discover the taste of the sweetest honey found in the Word of God formed inside your mouth when you Speak it out in love! See how we embrace the Cross by walking in Him as you received Him: by unconditionally surrendering to His Will, His Purpose, His Power, His Lordship.
Are you doing this today? If not let’s pray right now!
Father God, I have surrendered it all….everything, my relationships, my job, my finances, my ego and fleshy desires. Bend my will so that I can fully see beyond my own weaknesses to enter your presence to experience dreams, visions and the love Of being a child of God. In Jesus Name Amen
When we cease doing what we cannot do, then Christ begins to do what we cannot. Hallelujah!
This is the fruit of His Vine! - a true sanctified servant of the Most High God submits to the work - - all of the cross, not just the ones we pick and choose.Give it all!
Let go and watch how freedom comes over you. Beware our ego likes to keep tiny areas of our selves for ourselves - or hidden from God which can be our intelligence speaking not our spirit.
In John 15:2, Jesus explains that He prunes every branch that does not bear fruit so that it will bear fruit. We will go through some painful experiences during our Christian walk because God is getting rid of some things. What does it mean to love God? It means that you obey His commands. There is no difference between love and obedience; they are the same. Thank you Jesus!
God desires that you bear much fruit, so be prepared for things to be pruned out of your life, and along the way, you may discover that some personality traits really aren’t yours. This was a total shock to me. You may find that you inherited some things or they were passed down to you through familiar spirits.
You see, demon spirits can gain access to your soul realm, which will cause you to think differently. If you accept these ugly thoughts about yourself, you will begin to manifest them. Quite simply put, what you believe is what you will manifest. As soon as you realize this is happening, you need to acknowledge it and cast those demons out. I don’t mean you cast them aside as some churches present it; I mean to follow Jesus’s instructions, which is to drive them out, push them away, and be violent with them.
See, you need to get rid of these invisible friends because they are not your friends! You do not have to be thrown down and spit up green soup to know you have a demon. The truth is that the demon will have you.
You may have heard that Christians can’t have a demon. But a demon can have a Christian because, although your spirit is saved, you can still experience demonic manifestation. I want you to walk in total freedom, and I want you to live out exactly what God pronounced over you even before you were born.
How do I know because I have been delivered and it’s easy to be deceived when we aren’t walking in the Spirit. Especially when we cannot stop doing the things we know we shouldn’t’! We feel defeated, but we continue trying in our flesh. This is our ego trying trying to wear us out and the enemy is allowed in!
How do we get off this road?
Begin, by admitting defeat. I mean it, look back at the series of failed disappointments in your life! Do you see them? If you can’t see them, may I ask you why are you still searching?
Why are you still looking for God? Why can’t you hear his Voice?
The answer is “Ego”.
Listen, I know this is a new age term, but if you are truly abiding in Christ, you have nothing to fear! You have entered His sonship by choice, this is a decision made with your heart, then you are called by God.
God meant it when He told us to “come out from among them and be separate, do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 2:17).
Are you ready to give it all up? Maybe there is just one thing you’re still holding on to, but you are ready now to put it to death. Pray this prayer outloud!
Lord, I am finished. I give up. I have tried everything and nothing has worked. This is impossible with me, but not with You. With You all things are possible! Therefore, I trust You to do what I cannot do. If you do it then I will overcome; if You do not do it then I will forever be defeated. Just as I trust in You to save me, so I trust in You to overcome this thing. I cannot do but You can.”
Now with this prayer, you have fully embraced the Cross. This prayer means we have “died” to all of our efforts and God has “raised you from the dead” with a tremendous deliverance. Hallelujah!
In the wilderness Joshua defeats the Amalek who were descendants of Esau, the wandering hunter, son of Isaac and brother of Jacob who stole his inheritance. The symbolism here is outstanding because Esau focused on earthly things rather than the things of God. He would rather have his physical cravings satisfied than receive God’s blessings.
We are told in the Book of Hebrews Esau is a negative example of godlessness: “See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done” (Hebrews 12:16–17).
Then Amalek [descents of Esau] came and fought with Israel at Rephidim [refreshment] on the way to Mount Sinai. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some men for us and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff [power of God] of God in my hand.” The staff So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; so his hands were steady until the sun set. And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the sword. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a reminder in a book and recite it in the hearing of Joshua: I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” And Moses built an altar and called it, The Lord is my banner. He said, “A hand upon the banner of the Lord! The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Now that we have Embraced the Cross its not a once-and-done thing. ct. We take up the Cross daily, which means this is a moment-by-moment yielding to Him is summed up in this saying: “Not I, but Christ” (Gal. 2:2) We must keep our hands held high and our back towards the Lord becoming our daily attitude of knowing our insufficiency in order to know the sufficiency of Christ.
Jesus asks us to take up the Cross “daily” (Lk. 9:23) and Paul said “I die daily” (1 Cor. 15:31). Since we daily meet with temptations, tests and trials, so we must daily affirm and re-affirm who we are in Christ: the crucified, dead, buried, resurrected, ascended and seated Branches of the crucified, dead, buried, resurrected, ascended, and seated Vine.
However, if you can’t resolve some of the discrepancies in your life, it’s time to get violent with the devil because these evil spirits have to break off you. It’s time right?
You must take the authority to remove their influence or involvement in your life. You Are Not a Victim One way you will know that evil spirits influence your life is that they will affect your emotions and the way you think.
Due to their influence, you will react a certain way when specific actions or events happen to you or when certain things are said. They want to push your buttons.
They can even program you in rejection cycles. They will work on other people that have allowed them access to their lives to repeatedly reject you. If we are continuing being hurt by others, we believe the whispers of these little demons. They know exactly what to do to get a person to speak hurtful, untrue things to you and keep them doing this in cycles or even on a schedule.
I could not believe it when I realized this and once I did, I put an end to these devils. It took some effort by changing my reaction from fear to laughing every time that demon would come, I would just laugh out loud!
Guess what…. It must have hurt it because he has not come back! After all, I’m not a victim, and neither are you. Trust me when I say, some demons hope you don’t believe what I’m telling you here.
They Just know, once you realize and enforce the truth and you stand believing that you are not a victim anymore, they have to go. All of Heaven Believes That You Cannot Fail As a child of God, your spirit does not have any failure in it.
When you were born again, you became a new creation, and the Spirit of the living God came to live inside you. Furthermore, Jesus is continually interceding on your behalf (Romans 8:34). Even the angels that have read your books in heaven and that have been assigned to you never think you will fail. They are just looking for cooperation from you.
The Holy Spirit inside you is enforcing the blessing, bringing you into victory. God always sees you as an overcomer, and the Holy Spirit has never doubted you. Jesus has never had a wrong thought about you. He has never thought that you wouldn’t win, ever. The Holy Spirit has never thought you would fail, ever. Your angel has never thought you would have a mission failure. Your Father, who wrote your book in heaven, never, ever thought you would fail. The Trinity doesn’t think that way, and neither do the angels or anyone else in heaven. All of heaven is cheering for you, saying, “Don’t slow down, keep going!” So together with them, we will have reached the fulfillment of God’s heart in the coming age.
ACTIVATION:
To challenge our deliverance is to confront, convict, and convince both saints and sinners alike to follow Jesus intimately in our secret place of prayer. The Divine truth is presented here when we truly seek our Savior. Try reading the Book of Hebrews and eat it as bread, just like the manna the Israelites experienced and you will go deep into spiritual truths that you never thought possible.
Let me share an early journal entry while reading God’s word in my wilderness season! I began by meditating on Psalm 119. God’s divine truth is intended to fill our intelligence with God’s light. His light shines through the veil extinguishing the darkness. We are given truth regarding man’s relation to God filling our hearts with His love. We are given Divine authority to control our will but it’s up to us to consciously make this decision to be filled to produce fruit through our actions and habits.
JOURNAL
As I enter my secret place, I felt a stirring within my heart. This warmth was new to me and I began asking, “is this Jesus cleansing my hardened heart?”I heard, this is your Father, “Come forth my daughter.”
As this feeling grows, I begin to sense hope. If Only I could keep myself seated here, a place of safety, a place of acceptance of not only myself but also of my circumstances. A thought begins to grow, expanding over my forehead that I am a true daughter of My Beloved Jesus.
This feeling becomes a knowing that The Spirit of the The Lord had been waiting for me ….makes me tear up, as the truth of my Divine Father has come to teach and comfort me.
It’s a place I begin to breathe in…deep breaths of long awaited freedom has come across my shoulders. I have waited a long time for this and have prayed for it.
My burdens and everything that I was carrying is disappear and are gone … my shoulders are no longer heavy and a lightness within my mind is felt. My weightlessness relaxes me. A feel a metal clasp had been around my neck. I hear a snap and this collar has opened and it clinks to the floor. I can turn my neck freely as this heavy yoke has been removed. A strong truth begins to fill within me and I feel The Father’s nearness.
I am reluctant to enter this new place of rest, even though without a shadow of doubt, dwelling in His presence is a blessing. I ask myself, why do I seek the tents of wickedness where My Savior is curtained and I stand outside. I surrender and begin praying, “Help me Father to overcome.”
Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:24 NKJV
This entry is my witness to enter His Divine Truth. I allowed for His Spirit to consume and expand to birth fruit within my spirit. This birthing process becomes a place in our journey that we know without a shadow of doubt the authority of our King Jesus.
He is the curse breaker for which our flesh is born under and with Jesus we can encounter a divine revelation to break every yoke.
You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12“Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty. Malicah 3:9-12
Beloved, it is not enough to sit regularly in church or even be familiar with the promises of God. We are called to POSSESS them. As we pray, we hear. As we hear we obey. As we obey, we are blessed.
We do this through the Spirit by reading God’s word following the pillar of fire to burn away all misconceptions, curses and hinderances to unveil Jesus to appear before you!
