EAST WIND

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. 21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.”  Exodus 14:19-22, NKJV

the EAST WIND

The above passage of Scripture introduces us to the living creature called the East Wind, and we quickly see that this wind has been given a divine capacity to carry the judgement and wrath of God against wickedness in nation states, or over individuals.

Its purpose as an instrument of the judgements of God is one of the signature characteristics of the East Wind.We will all face troubles and pain in life, but if we handle it the way God wants us to, by laying them at His feet, we can be blessed in the midst of it!  In my troubles, I always think of how Job endured such great trouble, but in the end, he was given twice as much as He had lost. (Job 42:10).

With this in mind, God's East winds bring correction and judgment against the forces of darkness within our soul. It is a strong, scorching blast of dry wind without rain or moisture from the desert brought to both the country and city.

And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind…. –Genesis 41:23

A dry wind not to cleanse but to blow with a violent fury to sweep away, destroy and separate the chaff from the wheat and to lay waste of it all together.

They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up [as] the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand. –Habakkuk 1:9

And we learn from the young prophet Jeremiah who said to the people and to Jerusalem: “A blazing wind from the barren desert heights will blow upon my dear people, not a gentle wind to winnow or sift out— I am sending a wind much stronger than that. Now, I will bring charges against them.” Jeremiah 4:11-12 TPT

The east wind destroyed the houses in Job 1:19 as it parted the Red Sea and drowned all the enemy and their chariots in Exodus 14:21. It destroyed the ships of Tarshish in Psalm 48:7, and brought locusts as Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt.
And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt,  and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all [that] night; [and] when it was morning,  the east wind brought the locusts. –Exodus 10:13

The East Wind brings a turning point in one’s life.

For behold, the Lord will come in fire and His chariots like the whirlwind to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire! Isaiah 66:15

Two years had passed and Joseph was still working in the prison house but events start happening and God began to move quickly. We see how Joseph waited and trusted God to move. He rose from the dungeon to the Egyptian throne room. God engineered the circumstances for God’s timing is sovereign.

However, God’s timing in our lives may seem to move agonizingly slow but in Josephs’ experience, we are reminded how God’s winds bring about the change at lightening speed.

So as children of the Most High God, we use our authority and summon the East wind in the name of Jesus against every evil force that is coming against us, our loved ones, our neighborhoods, our cities, our country, to all we hold dear.

Prayer when we are in the midst of our troubles, we can pray to summon the East wind in the name of Jesus to bring judgment against the forces of darkness that we are in agreement with and have given access to our souls. We renounce any and all control of darkness that controls our thoughts and speech but pray that the power of God is released in His house, in my house, in my life, in my finances, in my relationships, in my health, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!
