WEST WIND

Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and entreat the Lord your God, that He may take away from me this death only.” 18 So he went out from Pharaoh and entreated the Lord. 19 And the Lord turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt. 20 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.”  Exodus 10:17-20, NKJV

THE west WIND

The West Wind, though mentioned less frequently than the other winds carries a significant weight and spiritual significance. It is associated with cleansing and refreshment but also of its unpredictability movements of God’s Spirit.

It’s a wind of reversal. One of the most vivid instances of the West Wind’s appearance in the Bible is found in Exodus 10:19-20. After the plague of locusts had devastated the land of Egypt, The Lord caused a strong West Wind to blow profusely for hours over the land of Egypt. This sustained action by the West Wind swept the devouring locusts into the Red Sea, leaving a land full of refreshment.

In the New Testament, Luke shares a subtle teaching by Jesus. Christ rebuked the crowd for their ability to interpret the time in which they lived based on Old Testament prophecies that were being fulfilled daily through Jesus’ ministry.

He said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time? Luke 12:54-56

Jesus credits the West Wind with bringing “showery rain.” Showery rain is never overpowering. Instead, it has a refreshing effect, like being exposed to a gentle sprinkler water in hot summer. Once again, the inference is that the West Wind is deeply associated with times of refreshing.

The West Wind is also understood to bring in rain clouds in conjunction with the North Wind, which Jesus uses metaphorically to illustrate a spiritual truth. It implies that just as we discern the coming of the rain, so should we discern the spiritual realities and the workings of God in history.

The West Wind is critical role in the prophetic end time events….specifically to prepare the Body of Christ for some epic battles in these last days

I found the West Wind is less about the wind itself but more about the God who commands it.

Let me quickly explain the relationship between God and the West Wind:

  • It is a representation of God’s power to renew
  • It is a representation of God’s power to save mankind.
  • It is a representation of God’s power to reverse the course of human events.
  • It is a representation of God’s power to bring cleansing after a time of judgment.
  • It is a representation of God’s power to heal the land and restore it.
Spiritually, the West Winds mesh together and demonstrate the grace of God that follows our heartfelt repentance. This repentance leads us to deliverance.

The West Wind is a wind of hope that follows despair with a promise of divine restoration.

On a personal note, I was shown the winds by entering the West Gate by the Spirit of God long before I understood the path I was trekking. Here is the link to share my journey to deliverance “Your Palace is Waiting”.

If you feel a witness to my message, I want to encourage you to pray and ask God to show you His  winds. We never know how much time we have…. And if you are anything like me, I was stuck and didn’t know it for a long time, until I prayed for help!

Blessings to you,
